Abstract
In order to improve the seismic performance of RC high-rise shear wall, the RC high-rise shear wall with concealed truss was brought forward. The concealed truss included steel truss, steel bar truss and the composition truss of shaped steel and steel bar. This new shear wall was a double composite shear wall, viz.,the combination of truss and shear wall and the combination of steel and concrete. The experimental study was carried out on the seismic performance of six 1/3 scale high-rise shear walls, including one with steel frame, four with different style concealed trusses as well as a normal one.The load-carrying capacity, ductility, stiffness and its attenuation, hysteretic property, energy dissipation and failure phenomena of each specimen were contrastively analyzed. The formulas of calculating load-carrying capacity and stiffness were established. Some suggestions for seismic design of RC high-rise shear wall with concealed truss were put forward. The results obtained from formulas and experiments were in good agreement.Experimental results showed that, compared with normal RC high-rise shear wall, the seismic performance of the RC high-rise shear wall with steel frame and concealed truss was obviously improved.
