Search engine is an important tool for people to search on Internet.Although the general search engines have strong functions,they can't satisfied this need of searching in a portal site with many sub-sites.Lucene is a full-text index/retrieval software package and a search engine can be quickly developed based on Lucene.Analyzes the process of the development study of specialized search engine through an example.The search engines is compared with general search engines on research result.
