The Urban Growth and Changes of Northeast China in Qing Dynasty

In Qing Dynasty,urban growth in Northeast China experienced an important period.After the establishment of the Qing Empire,northeast area was admitted into the unified multi-national state,and Chinese institutions of politics,military,economy,and culture were widely introduced,thus the functions of cities in the area changed into diversified ones.The appearance and growth of cities in the Northeast area were very closely related with the unity,economic development,and population aggregation of the country.In turn,once cities of different levels were founded,they had strong promotion to the state security and unity,to economic development in Northeast area and to population aggregation.
