Abstract
The benzoin condensation reaction was studied by using vitamin B1 as catalyst and PEG-6000 as phase transfer catalyst under microwave heating. The method of added reagent was actualized under room temperature. The influences of the sequence of added reagent, the amount of VB1,microwave power,micro- wave time,pH,the amount of PEG-6000 on the yield of benzoin condensation reaction were investigated. The yield of benzoin was 70.9% under the optimum reaction condition.
