Abstract
During every July to September from 2008 to 2010,the diversity of butterfly species in Tianzhu of Gansu Province was investigated by the methods of field observation,sample collecting,making and evaluation.As indicated by the results,a newly-recorded genus and 10 newly-recorded species of Gansu butterflies were found in this area,and there were totally 78 species 54 genera 8 species of butterflies indentified,including 22 species 9 genera of Pieridae,17 species 17 genera of Nymphalidae,14 species 13 genera of Satyridae,9 species 1 genus of Parnassidae,9 species 9 genera of Lycaenidae,3 species 3 genera of Hesperiidae,2 species 1 genus of Papilionidae,2 species 1 genus of Riodinidae,and the number of the species Pieridae took up 28% of the total species number and belonged to the dominant species.
