Discussion on some problems of total station traverse survey

In this paper,some issues of total station traverse survey such as basic concept,principle,operation step,approximate adjustment method are discussed,and useful conclusions are obtained.The substance of total station traverse survey is a three-dimensional coordinates measure in succession,and its form is a three-dimensional unclosed traverse.So it is suggested that the total station traverse survey should be conducted without too many points and too long route for each time.Otherwise,it should be checked from one known point to another with proportional anti-symbol allocation between closing error and the length of side.
