Abstract
The litter water-holding characteristics of natural forest and different ages of artificial Eucalyptus grandis plantation were determined by indoor immersion method. The result showed that the litter storage, litter max water-holding capacity, max interception and modified interception, all ranked from high to low as natural forest,3-year-old E.grandis,2-year-old E.grandis,1-year-old E.grandis.The litter water-holding capacity was increased with the tree age after natural forest converted to E.grandis plantation, which was important to maintain the litter layer water-holding capacity of original forest.
