Abstract
Objectives To study the effect of L-Carnitine on chronic congestive heart failure in acute phase. Methods 76 cases with chronic congestive heart failure were randomly divided into two groups: group A with conventional treatment; group B with conventional treatment plus L-Carnitine. Changes of heart function in two groups before and after treatment, and those between the two groups after treatment were observed. Results there was significant difference in heart function changes in two groups before and after treatment (P0.05), and there was also significant difference in heart function changes between group A and B after treatment (P0.05). Conclusion L-Carnitine has therapeutic effect on chronic congestive heart failure in acute phase.
