Abstract

By using two Sony high-speed cameras, the take off technique of Chinese elite men high jumpers was recorded live, and then ananlyzed by the feedback system of Ajie kinematic video. The result shows that the gravity centres of Chinese high jumpers are rather far from the point where the swinging legs landed at the instant that happened. In the buffering course of the swinging legs, the knee joints of tried legs partly buffered too much and this made the horizontal speed lower. Finally, both the distance of the last step and the rate of the last-step distance and the body are comparatively small, having a significent difference with foreign elite high jumpers.
