Abstract

Objective To explore the expression of turmor suppressor gene maspin in hepatocellular carcinoma and its clinical significance. Methods Thirty two patients with hepatocellular carcinoma were enrolled in the study, and 30 health cases as controls.Immunohistochemistry was used to detect the expressions of maspin in the targeted hepatocellular carcinoma tissue, adjacent surrounding liver tissue and normal liver tissue, and relationship between maspin expression and clinical pathological parameters of hepatocellular carcinaoma was analyzed. Results The positive rate of maspin in the targeted hepatocellular carcinoma tissue(28.1%) was significantly lower than that in the adjacent surrounding liver tissue(62.5%) as well as normal liver tissue(86.7%).The positive rate of maspin expression was related with tumor differentiation and metastasis(P0.05),but was not related with age, gender, the diameter of tumor,TMN stage and portal vein invasion(P0.05).Conclusion Maspin shows a low expression in targeted hepatocellular carcinoma tissue, and its expression can be used as an index for the judgment of development and severity of hepatocellular carcinoma.
