Abstract
In order to enable a shield machine to come out from fine sand stratum in tunneling operation, the methods of filling water into receiving well to the water level as the same as that of the Yangtze River and injecting sand of 6 m depth into the well are used. These methods can keep ground water pressure balance between the receiving well and the stratum so as to avoid water and sand gushing as the tunnel run-through.Application of the ground pressure balance method in Anqing Yangtze River Crossing Project in receiving shield machine phase is described in this paper including construction principle, characteristics, process, operation detailed rules, practical effect, reason analysis and technical measures.
