Abstract
Objective:To observe the effect and safety of acupuncture and moxibustion in treating allergic rhinitis patients with deficiency of spleen qi.Menthods:69 cases were randomly and double-blind divided into treated group(34 cases)and controlled group(35 cases),and treated respectively with acupuncture and moxibustion and regular loratadine tablet for 4 weeks with a followup survey of 3 months. In the treated group, acupuncture and moxibustion was done once a day in the first course of treatment while once every two days in the second course of treatment. While in the controlled group, loratadine tablet 10mg was taken once every night.Result:The effective rate is 94.12 %in the treated group and 94.29% in the controlled group. The differences of the therapeutical effect were not statistical significance(u=0.7,P0.05).In the course of the followup survey, the recurrence rate is 12.5%,of in the treated group and 48,48% in the controlled group. The differences were significant between the two groups(χ2=9.88,P0.01).The adverse reaction rate of the treated group was 0,while the controlled group was 8.57%.The differences between the two groups were not statistical significance(χ2=2.30,P0.05).Conclusion:acupuncture and moxibustion is effective and safe for the allergic rhinitis with deficiency of spleen qi.
