Analysis on Accidental Death of Rasidents in Sichuan During 2004-2005

Objective To find out characteristic of accidental death.Methods According to the Project of National Third Retrospect Spot-check of Death Cause,the death cause of residents in ten counties during 2004 to 2005 was investigated,and death rate and its composition of residents'accidental death-cause were analysed.Results The accidental death rate was 64.99/105,and it occupied 10.85% and placed top four in total death cause.The accidental death rate of male and female were 86.61/105 and 42.22/105 respectively.The rate of male was obviously higher than that of female(P0.01).The top of accidental death causes were motor vehicle traffic accident and suicide,and motor vehicle traffic death rates of male and female were 16.95/105,5.89/105 respectively,and rate of male was obviously higher than that of female.Except zero age group,the accidental death ascended following growing age.Drowning was first accidental death cause of groups of age 0 to 4 and age 5 to 14 years old,with composition ratio of 56.44% and 52.74%.Suicide was top one of groups of age 15 to 24 and age 50 to 59.Motorvehicle traffic accident was top one of 25-49 age group.Accidental falling off was top one of old age group(≥60years old).Conclusion The main death causes were vehicle accident and suicide,there fore government should enhance attention,and take integrate measures to control.
