Abstract

Objective: To explore the correlation between serum BNP level and left ventricular remodeling in patients with acute myocardial infarction(AMI).Methods: Serum BNP level was determined by ELISA in 60 consecutive in patients with AMI and 22 normal control group.Patients were grouped according Killip grades, the indexes of left ventricular remodeling clude left ventricular end diastolic volume(LVEDV),left ventricular end systolic volume(LVESV) and left ventricular eject fraction(LVEF) were measured by ultrasonic cardiogram on day 7~10.The relationship were obtained between serum BNP level and cardiac function, infarction areas and the left ventricular remodeling in patients with acute myocardial infarction. Results: The serum BNP level was significantly higher with the cardiac function(killips grades) worse and the infarction areas increased(all P0.01).The serum BNP level in hospitalized patients with AMI was positively correlated with LVESV and LVEDV,negatively correlated with LVEF.Conclusion: The serum BNP level in patients with AMI was correlated with left ventricular remodeling.
