Value of Ultrasound and Clinical Scoring in Differentiating Pleomorphic Adenoma from Adenolymphoma of Parotid Gland

Abstract
Objective To explore a high accurate and easy evaluation method by ultrasound and clinical scoring.Methods 22 pleomorphic adenoma and 16 adenolymphoma of parotid gland confirmed by pathology were analyzed retrospectively,ultrasound and clinical scoring of pleomorphic adenoma and adenolymphoma were performed,ROC curve was applied to evaluate the score threshold.Results The score threshold for distinguishing pleomorphic adenoma and adenolymphoma was 3,the sensitivity of ultrasound and clinical scoring method for differential diagnosis between pleomorphic adenoma and adenolymphoma was 87.5%,the specificity was 77.2%.Conclusions Ultrasound and clinical scoring is valuable for differential diagnosis between pleomorphic adenoma and adenolymphoma.
