Application of ligation of carotid arteries in patients with carotid tumors or tumors involving the carotid

Objective To evaluate the application of ligation of excision of carotid arteries in patients with carotid tumors or tumors involving the carotid.Methods Clinical data of 6 patiens with carotid tumors was anslysed retrospectively and the treatment experience was summarized.Results 12 patiens diagnosed by DSA,Bu and CTA,recieved Matas test before ligation.All patients underwent carotid artery ligqtion and no mortality occurred.Conclusion Imaging is the most reliable diagnostic method.The key to success of operation is to take the protective measure for the brain perioperationly.The ligation of carotid artery is relatively safe and the indication should be extended.
