Abstract
Objective:To evaluate the treatment and effect of the malignant tumor of nasal cavity and sinus. Methods: 83 cases of malignant tumor originated from nasal cavity, maxillary sinus, ethmoid sinus, sphenoid sinus and frontal sinus, were accepted subtotal and total maxillectomy, resection of the frontoethmosphenoorbital tumor by approach of frontal windowing-overturn of nasal pyramid, craniofacial resection, and radical mandibulocervical dissection. Some of the cases were accepted cryotherapy during the operation. All the cases accepted radiotherapy after operation. Result: Of the 76 cases which had been followed up for three years, 36 cases survived (47.5%), and, of the 69 cases which had been followed up for five years, 25 cases survived (36.2%). Conclusion: The modified operation and postoperative radiotherapy may improve the effect of the malignant tumor of nasal cavity and sinus.
