Effect of Anwei decoction on expression of TFF2 mRNA in CAG model rats

Abstract

Objective To explore the effect of Anwei decoction(AD)on the expression of TFF2 mRNA in rats with chronic atrophic gastritis(CAG).Methods Thirty-six healthy rats were divided randomly into three groups.Group A was treated without any medicine,group B was treated with AD and group C was treated with medicine Weifuchun.CAG in all of the rats in each group was induced by N-methy-N-Nit ro-N-Nitroguanidine(MNNG).The effect of medicines on the expression of TFF2 mRNA in rat's gastric mucosa was determined by real-time polymerase chain reaction(real-time PCR).Results The expressions of TFF2 mRNA were remarkably enhanced in group B(0.90±0.06)and C(0.72±0.10)in comparing to that in group A(0.35±0.06,P0.01),and the difference of TFF2 mRNA expression between group B and C of was statistically significant(P0.05).Conclusions Anwei decoction treats CAG possibly by enhancing the expression of TFF2 mRNA in gastric mucosa,which might improve the integrity and defensive ability of gastrointestinal mucosal.
