Abstract
Objective: To explore the effect and security of citalopram. Methods: 41 patients with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) were divided into two groups: 21 cases were treated with citalopram and 20 cases were treated with clomipramine (control group) for 8 weeks. The curative effect and side effect were assessed with Y-BOCS, HAMD and TESS. Results: The difference was significant between before and after treatment in Y-BOCS or HAMD score (P0.01). But the difference of the efficacy between two groups was no significant (P0.05). The side effects of citalopram group were less then clomipramine group. Conclusions: In the treatment of OCD, citalopram had higher curative effect, fewer side effects and better medication compliance.
