Abstract
AIM:To test the inhibitory bacteria action of three commercial available calcium hydroxide(Hy-cal、Metapex、Metapaste) and 1%chitin on main bacteria from infected canal.METHODS: The bacteria used in the experiment were Porphyromonas endodontalis(Pe),Porphyromonas gingivalis(Pg),Prevotella intermedia(Pi),Actinnomyces viscosus(Av).Argrose diffusion test was chosen in the experimet and 2% chlorhexidine was used as control. The(inhibitory) effects of experimental medicines were investigated by measurement of the diameter of inhibitory zone.(RESULTS): Compared with the control group, the result showed that the Hy-cal and 1%chitin had strong bacteria(inhibitory) action, but Metapex and Metapaste were less. There was no significant difference among the four experimental medicine.CONCLUSION: In clinic it is valuable to use Hy-cal、Metapex、Metapaste、1% chitin in root canal dressing.
