ANALYSIS OF WORKING CONDITIONS AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS OF HEALTH MEMBERS FOR INFECTIOUS DISEASE PREVENTION AND CONTROL IN BEIJING

[Objective]To study the current working skills,working conditions and educational requirements of training contents and forms of health members for infectious disease prevention and control in all districts and counties CDC in Beijing.[Methods]A quantitative survey with unified questionnaires was conducted in six districts of Beijing,comparing and analyzing the two groups of health members including public health medical members and laboratory test members.[Results]A large proportion of health members in two groups could not master the working skills for preventing and controlling infectious diseases. The levels of income and status were low. The rates of satisfaction with current working conditions for public health medical members and laboratory test members were 45.1% and 45.8%,respectively. 38.2% of the health medical members and 45.0% of the laboratory test members would like to change jobs. The proportions of health members in two groups accepted infectious disease education of national and municipal degree showed to be low. The rates of dissatisfaction with infectious disease education for the two groups were 34.4% and 27.6%,respectively. Requirements of each category personnel for contents of infectious disease are different,and 84.2% of the public health medical members and 61.0% of laboratory test members recognized training courses as the best education form.[Conclusion]Working conditions for the health members for infectious disease prevention and control in the district or county CDC should be improved. It is necessary to maintain the stability of the team and improve the income for the health members. The schedule,form and content of infectious disease education should be arranged according to the actual requirement of health members for infectious disease prevention and control and long-term appraisal system of working skills should be established.
