China’s Regional Economic Classification: a Provincial Perspective

In China there are three economic regions: south-eastern coastal region, northern region, and central-western region, according to the criteria of per capita economic index. Per capita GDP, per capita income and other variables indicate that the three economic regions are still characterized with regional belt after more than two decades development since 1985 when the economic regions were divided.
