Abstract

A graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry is described for the determination of trace selenium in serum with matrix modifiers of Strontium Nitrate and Palladium Nitrate. The calibration curve is linear for selenium over the concentration range of 0~120 ng/mL.The detection limit of the method is 0.095 ng/mL,trace selenium in ox serum and rat serum can be directly measured without the preseparation. The method was tested by the determination of trace selenium in standard ox serum. The recovery of selenium is 102% for rat serum.
