Abstract

Objective To investigate the treatment of ingrown nail by using a nail fold skin flap to reconstruct the nail groove.Methods The nail plate was partially excised.The nail groove and nail fold were reconstructed by using a nail fold skin flap.Results From 2000,1 to 2003,5,158 cases,including 209 toes and 3 fingers, were treated and followed up for six months to two years with satisfactory results. Conclusion This technique treats the causes of ingrown nail with few complication and low recurrence.
