Identification and serotyping of five infectious bronchitis virus isolates

Abstract
Five field strains of infectious bronchitis virus(IBV) were isolated from the affected broilers in Chongqing City、Sichuan and Guangdong Provinces by inoculation into allantoic cavity of 10-day SPF embryos.Biological characteristics of the isolates were studied by virus pathogenicity to SPF chicken embryos and chickens,hemagglutination activity of virus to chicken red blood cells,interference with NDV and detection of antibody titer of post-infected chickens.The results revealed that all of the five stains were IBV.Moreover,the data of viral-neutralization indicated that the serotypes of the five strains were similar to IBV strain A2,but different from classic IBV strains H52,H120,M41,T and Holte.The results provided foundation for prevention of infectious bronchitis in these areas.
