Abstract
Objective To investigate gene expression in 76 breast tissue and analyse its correletion with the biologic behavior and lymph node metastasis in breast cancer.Method By using sp immunohistochemical methods, the nm23-H 1 and P 53 gene expression in 76 breast tissue samples were detected in this study. Results nm23-H 1 gene expression was positive in all fibroadenomas, 9(90%) cases of fibrocystic diseases were positive, but 25(44.64%) cases of breast cancers were positive;compered with fibroadenomas and fibracystic diseases separately, the latter was significantly lower than the former( P0.01,P 0.005);P 53 protein expression in all benign lessions was negative and 20(35.71%)cases of breast cancers were positive;the difference had reached statistical significance( P 0.025) Meanwhile, nm23-H 1 expression correlated with the histologic tumor grade and the lymph node metastasis ( P0.025,P 0.05), but not correlated with histologic tumor type;P 53 protein expression was correlated with lymph node netastasis of breast cancer( P 0.05);but were not correlated with tumor cell differentiation, nor correlated with histologic tumor type.In addition,P 53 overexpression and nm23-H 1 loss to the lymph node metastasis had joint action. Conclusion nm23-H 1 loss and P 53 overexpression indicated that breast cancer had great malignance and high potential for the lymph node metastasis and would be more valueble and effective to determine the prognosis of the patients with breast cancer.
