Surgical Treatment of Children Snoring Symptom by Excising Hypertrophy Tonsil and Adenoids

Objective To explore the relationship between children snoring symptom and tonsil hypertrophy,chronic tonsillitis and adenoids in hopes of finding a effective therapy method.Methods 107 cases of snoring symptom with different degree of tonsil hypertrophy or adenoids received tonsillectomy or/and adenoidectomy under local or general anesthesia.Results The therapeutic effect for snoring symptom was perfectly.The snoring phenomenon nearly disappeared in all cases.The mouth breathing and night terrors were improved.The followed up showed that 13 cases of concomitant secretory otitis media with tonsil hypertrophy or adenoids were basically cured;the symptoms of 26 cases of chronic sinusitis were relieved or disappeared.The body weight of most low birth weight infants increased obviously.The mental status and intelligence of patients were improved markedly.Conclusion Timely diagnosis and operation(tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy) is an effective and safe therapy way for children snoring symptom.
