Abstract
Objective To investigate the expression and significance of C-erbB-2,nm23 protein, estrogen receptor(ER) and progestogen receptor(PR) in breast carcinoma. Methods 54 cases of surgical specimens from infiltrating breast cancer were investigated by SP immunohistochemical staining for C-erbB-2 oncogene,nm23 gene protein,ER and PR.Results 1) The positive rate of C-erbB-2 was 48.1%,which was positively correlated with histolgical grade and lymph node metastasis(P0.05),but that did not relate to histological types, clinical staging, tumor size, age and metastasis.2) The positive rate of nm23 was 79.6%,which was negatively correlated with clinical staging and lymph node metastasis(P0.05),but did not relate to histological types, histological types, tumor size and age.3) The expression of C-erbB-2 was negatively correlated with ER expression, but did not relate to PR.The expression of nm23 was not correlated with ER and PR respectively, but the expresion of nm23 was negatively correlated with C-erbB-2 expression. Conclusion The expression of C-erbB-2,nm23,ER and PR in breast cancer cells reflects molecular biological features of the breast carcinoma.
