The Research of History Prior to the Qin Dynasty in 30 Years of Reform and Opening Up

The research on History prior to the Qin Dynasty has been prosperous since the 3rd Plenary Session of the 11th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China(CPC) when China had set up the ideological line of emancipating the mind and seeking truth from the facts.The results are firstly the newly acknowledgements to the history and culture prior to the Qin Dynasty,based on the serial of new materials found in archaeology;secondly because of the change of the ideology and the renewal of theory,the scholars get rid of the discussion about the narrow division of the ancient history,widen their horizon,and research field.Although there are extraordinary achievements in the research of History prior to the Qin Dynasty,it is still inadequate in the research on history of a specific subject and on dynastic history,a serial of topics need to be further studied.One principle is that we need to stick to the ideological line of emancipating the mind and seeking truth from the facts,fighting against dogmatism and formalism;the second is to strengthen the introduction of and study on theories of the western history,archaeology and culture;the third is to strengthen the connection between history and archaeology and to realize the union of the two;the fourth is to improve the construction of academic discipline,to promote the steady research method and spirit of doing scholarly research.
