Politics and Study of Qing Dynasty History

The research on Qing Dynasty history has been entangled with politics together from its beginning. Its academic quality and research process are affected deeply by the revolution against Manchuria dynasty, patriotism, anti-imperialism revisionism, etc. Politics influences academic research in both positive and negative ways. It may be helpful to academic research in a limited degree, by creating some conditions, as well as to make academic research deviating orbit and become a pseudo-science. It is impossible for academic research to break away from politics completely. It would be advisable to call “Academic Research on Independent Thinking and Seeking Truth from Facts”, rather than call “Academic Studies Serving Politics”.
