The Restoration Society and the Gentry Power in the Late Ming and Early Qing Dynasties in Southern China

The Restoration Society is a scholars' organization mainly made up of the gentry class,so its ideology and mode,to some extent,are determined by the rise and fall as well as the features of the gentry class.The paper will make a dynamic study of the activities of the Restoration Society in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties in Southern China,pointing out that the influence of the Restoration Society is a concentrated expression of the flourishing of the gentry class in the late Ming Dynasty in this area,while the decline of the gentry class in the early Qing Dynasty necessarily leads to the fall of scholars' organization.
