Population Status, Conservation and Utilization of Bohai Black Cattle

Bohai Black cattle, listed as the one of the preserved cattle breed in China, is a superior dual - purpose cattle breed of meat and drafting. The population status and existing problems, conservation method, possible utilization strategies, and crossbreeding of Bohai black cattle were summarized, which suggested that breeding a specialized beef breed from local yellow cattle in China is the only way to conserve the cattle breeds and improve the production profits, and also a referable method for conservation and utilization of other local breeds.
