The clinical application of postoperative early enteral nutrition in patients with esophageal cancer and cardia cancer

Objective To evaluate the effects of early enteral nutrition applied in patients with esophageal cancer and cardia cancer.Methods 56 pat-ients with esophageal cancer and cardia cancer undergone radical resection and reconstruction were randomly allocated into 2 groups (Entoral Nutrition group,EN group,n=30 and Parentoral Nutrition group,PN group n=26).Serum conce-ntrations of albumin,prealbumin were examined before operation and on the 8 th postoperative day; the electrolytes and nutritional status were observed; the postoperative complications were compared.Results The compilations in PN group (15.80%)were significantly higher than EN group (6.65%),(P0.05) ;Compared with preparation,the concentration of prealbumin,serum albu-min transferrin and lymphocyte count were significantly increased after nutriti-onal support in EN group (P0.05).There was a significant difference in two groups.Conclusion Early enteral nutrition can improve the nutritional status of patien-ts with esophageal cancer or cardia cancer and reduce the occurrence of posto-perative complications; Application of postoperative early enteral nutrition in patients with esophageal cancer and cardia cancer is safe,effective.
