Abstract
According to the investigation on the earthquake damage to 72 masonry school buildings in Doujianya,Pengzhou,Chungzhou, and Mianzhu, and the data of the earthquake damage are classified by the fortification intensity, the characteristics of the earthquake damage are analyzed, and the weakness of such building is the brick column associated with the wall.Based on the characteristics of the earthquake damage, some suggestions of seismic fortification of masonry school buildings are proposed for reference of seismic design and construction.
