Abstract

The research of plant genome has been transferred from the structural genomics focusing on determining the complete sequences of the genome to the functional genomics focusing on elucidating the biological function of genes.That plant functional genomics study is to give an answer to how gene controls various biological phenomena,obtaining valuable information from the data of structure genomics and expounding the function of DNA sequence.In recent years,main methods of studying the plant functional genomics include expressed sequence tag,serial analysis of gene expression,DNA micro array,reverse genetics and so on.It is currently being widely focused on the gene expression by transcript profiling and take us rapidly forward in our understanding of plant biological traits.
