Abstract
Based on Chinese province- level panel data from 1996 to 2012 and DM SP / OLS night light data,This paper explores impacts of region openness and adjacent regions' openness on regional urban concentration. The study show s that the improvement of the region's openness significantly promotes the region internal urban concentration,w hile the increase of its adjacent regions' openness w ould reduce the urban concentration. Furthermore,the level of regional economy and the scale of urban population have significant negative effect on urban concentration.
