Abstract
A dedicated CAM software used for machining cylindrical tool was developed based on VBA for AutoCAD.The shortcoming of universal CAM softwares when they are used for machining parts like cylindrical tool was analyzed.On basis of the analysis,new method of machining,that is first roll,then compensation,was studied.The method was realized by programming with VBA developing tool in AutoCAD environment.Practice proves that NC codes output by the software can be used to machine cylindrical tools with good quality.
