Abstract
Objective:To study the relationship between plasma homocysteine(Hcy) level and cerebral infarction. Methods:The samples in this study were 156 cases with cerebral infarction and 121 cases with normal control, the fast plasma Hcy of all cases was taken to determine the level of Hcy.Results:The mean plasma homocysteine(Hcy) level in the groups with cerebral infarction[(18.48±9.49) μmol/l] was significantly higher than that with normal controls[(13.92±4.13) μmol/l](P0.01).Conclusion:There is a obvious relationship between the level of Hcy and cerebral infarction, hyperhomocysteinema is an independent risk factor for cerebral infarction.
