Abstract
What is socialism and how to construct socialism are the two major problems that face poor countries after they have established proletarian state power and start to pursue the cause of socialism. This article intends to comment on Stalin's conception of socialism in terms of prospects of socialism,basic features of sociallsm and construction of socialism. Stalin's contribution to and misunderstanding of the con ception of socialism initiated and represented by Marx,Engels and Lenin are pointed out. Theoretical significance and negative effect of his conception of socialism to Soviet Union and other socialist countries are also discussed.
