Abstract
This paper pointed out that in the Understanding of Socialist Development in the Contemporary Worldpublished inStudy Times,at least two viewpoints are contrary to the central idea. One is the relationship between the Socialism with Chinese Characteristics and scientific socialism, the other is between the issues of democratic socialism. The author believed that Socialism with Chinese characteristics is a historical stage in the process of the development of scientific socialism, rather than the things beyond scientific socialism or different from scientific socialism. The Fourth Plenary Session of the 17 th Party's Central Committee definitely claimed a clear dividing line of scientific socialism and democratic socialism, and strongly criticized democratic socialism. There is no national socialism outside scientific socialism.
