A Discussion on the Grammaticalization of "Shi Zai"

Abstract
This paper describes the distribution and use of the ancient Chinese structure Shi Zai,and discusses its grammaticalization.The grammaticalization contains two aspects: one is that the word Zai lost its lexical meaning on semantic aspect,the other is that the structure Shi+Zai+V underwent the reanalysis on syntactic aspect.Thus,we draw a conclusion of the mechanism on the adverb's grammaticalization,which is the reanalysis on syntactic aspect.
