Abstract
Spartina alterniflora which was introduced into China from U.S.A,is the dominant plant in the regularly flooded zone between mean sea level and mean high water. The characteristic of the Jiangsu coast is very fit for Spartina alterniflora. At present there are 125 km 2 Spartina alterniflora on Jiangsu coast. The paper educed the distribution of Spartina alterniflora on Jiangsu coast by the remote sensing picture, analyzed the effect on Jiangsu coast in ecology and economy, discussed the rationality of growing Spartina alterniflora on Jiangsu coast, and pointed out that it is very necessary to study Spartina alterniflora further.
