An investigation of infection and drug sensitivities of Mycoplasma in genital tracts of infertile women

Objective To investigate the epidemiology and the drug sensitivities of Ureaplasma urealyticum(UU) and Mycoplasma hominis(Mh) in infertile women in Kunming area,Yunnan Province.Methods 431 cases of infertile women were performed of UU and Mh culture and drug sensitivity test.Results ①The positive rates of the infertile group are 52.90%(228/431) with UU,13.69%(59/431) with Mh,and 11.11%(48/431) with mixed infection of both UU and Mh,comparing to the normal control with 36.57%(49/134) of UU,5.23%(7/134) of Mh,and 3.74%(5/ 134) of mixed infection,respectively.Comaparing to the control,the positive rates of UU and Mh in the infertile group had significant differences(P0.01).The mixed infection rates also had difference between the two groups(P=0.01).②The infection of the infertile group were sensitive to Josamycin,Minocycline and Doxycycline,with a sensitivity rate of 100%,94.56% and 92.47% respectively.Conclusion The infertile women have a higher infection rates of UU and Mh in genital tracts,and resist to many kinds of antibiotics.Uu and Mh culture and drug sensitivity test are helpful to the clinical treatment.
