Abstract

Seven monitoring sites were set up in the downstream of Yongding new river in March 2011,and twelve water quality factors were selected as the evaluation indice,such as pH,DO,COD,heavy metals and nutrients.The single factors index method and Nemerow index method were used to analyze the downstream water quality.The results showed that the main pollution factor of Yongding downstream were DO.The main pollution sites are on one side of the Yongding new river near the sewage gate between Tang Jin Highway Bridge and Beitang sewage.The water quality index in other sites all fit for the surface water environment quality V standards,indicating that the water in this area can be used as agricultural waters and general landscape request waters.Through data comparison,it was found out that Yongding new river water has been greatly improved during the two years,indicating that the water treatment work has achieved remarkable results.
