Abstract

According to Environmental Quality Standards for Surface Water in China (GB3838-2002), monitoring data were used to evaluate and characterize the water quality condition of a landscape river in Tianjin based on the comprehensive index methods such as Nemerow Index and single-factor assessment. The results showed that the water quality of J River belongs to class V water body; the main pollutants of J River are organic pollutant, such as total nitrogen, total phosphorus and BOD5and CODCr; and from upstream to downstream, the degree of water pollution increases gradually. The most polluted cross-section in each season was also indicated.
