Abstract
Objective To compare the difference of expression of CD105 and CD34 between breast cancer and benign hyperplasia, and to study the microvessel density (MVD) and expression of VEGF in breast cancer and the relation between invasion and metastasis. Methods The S-P immunohistochemical technique was used to detect the MVD and VEGF, Which were marked by CD105 and CD34, in 70 patients with breast cancer and 20 patients with benign hyperplasia. Results The MVD of cases with breast duct in situ cancer and breast infiltrative duct cancer, which were marked by CD105 antibody, were 98.12±19.58 and 148.82±35.54 and MVD, which were marked by CD34 antibody, were 86.49±16.75 and 106.98±18.64 respectively. The positive rate of VEGF was 60% and 80% respectively. The MVD of case with breast benigh hyperplasia, which were marked by CD105 and CD34, were 48.31±15.67 and 54.60±18.18.The positive rate of VEGF was 20 %. There was a statistical significance between breast cancer and benign hyperplasia in each index (P 0.01 ) . There was a statistical significance in MVD marked by CD105 and CD34 in cases with breast infiltrative duct cancer (P 0.01 ), too. There was a significant positive correlation between MVD which were marked by CD105 and CD34 and expression of VEGF (P0.01) . Conclusion The detection of MVD marked by CD105 is obviously higher than that marked by CD34 in breast cancer. Thus, it is valuable to use CD105 in evaluating the situation of new vessel in breast cancer. There was a close correlation between MVD and VEGF which were marked by CD105 and CD34. Both can be indications of metastasis of breast cancer .
