The characteristics of morphology of Ningxiang dialect

Abstract
This article discussed the characteristics of Ningxiang dialect in word formation and configuration,including several noun suffixes,adjective suffixes,the numeral and classifier infixes shi(是) and the multifunctional suffixes ji(唧) etc.On one hand,these characteristics show Ningxiang dialect is a branch of Hunan dialect in Chang-Yi area;on the other hand because of its special geographical position,which lies in the vicinity of Loudi and Shaoyang,the dialect has been influenced to some extent by them.This indicates Ningxiang dialect is a special inferior dialect in Hunan dialect.
