The Dynamic Comparison between the Level of Urbanization and the Economic Growth Based on Panel Data

From the perspective of the panel data,this article conducts dynamic comparative study of the level of urbanization and economic growth from 1989 to 2010.It finds that the relationship between the level of urbanization and economic growth performance is significantly positive in China's 31 provinces and cities.Overall,there is the long-term stable cointegration,but for different regions,the promoting effects of the level of urbanization are different,of which the largest is the eastern region,followed by central,northeast and west.Error correction model shows that short-term impact of the level of urbanization is less obvious than long-term effects.Therefore,implementing the reform of household registration system will help improve the level of urbanization,promote coordinated economic growth,and eliminate the economic disparities between regions.
