Abstract
Steer-by-Wire system is the developing trend of steering system. Effects of yaw rate feedback control law on handling and stabilities of automobiles with Steer-by-Wire are researched. Results show that yaw rate feedback can increase damp and band width, quicken steering response, lower overshoot and steady slip angle value; and damp and band width increase with feedback coefficient. Unexpected yaw motion can be restrained under dangerous case such as braking on u -split road. The defect of yaw rate feedback is that steady gains of yaw rate and lateral acceleration are lowered so that the driver must increase steering wheel angles to realize expected vehicle response and the steering load is increased.
