Methods The cluster sampling method was used in the study, two communities were selected in the 497 communities which carried out residential aged care service. Community residents aged more than 60 years were investigated by questionnaire on general personal information,ADL and GDS-15. Spss13.0 software package was used for statistical analysis. Results 724 elderly persons were investigated, ADL of 54.7% elderly was completely normal, 19.2% of functional decline, 26.1% obviously dysfunction. The average score of GDS in the elderly was(4.22 ± 2.90) points, including normal grading 587 people(81.1%), depression 137 people(18.9%). ADL scores were significantly correlated to the IADL(Instrumental Activity of Daily Living Scale) scores(P0.01). Conclusion IADL of the elderly homecare receivers are obviously damaged. Depression is positively correlated with IADL.
